 Next Steps

My next steps will be implementing everything I have learned with my students. There are so many technology tools I have learned to use to engage my students and make learning fun. In addition thanks to my action research I have learned what works to increase transliteracy skills in bilingual students. In my first round of inquiry I learned that relying on Istation, a bilingual online program alone does not improve reading comprehension skills in students. The answer to my question was best addressed in my second round of research. Using multimodal strategies from GLAD and the use of technology, such as edpuzzle, was the key to improving transliteracy skills with bilingual students.

 Thanks

Touro University
I want to thank Touro University and the Innovative Learning Master of Education Program for giving me the opportunity to become a better equipped teacher for 21st century learners. The Innovative Learning program has changed the way I teach. I am now aware there are great online programs out there that help students increase comprehension skills. This program has given me all the tools I will need to keep learning and growing as an educator and I am truly thankful.

Professors
To all my professors this year for helping me succeed. Thank you for believing in me and not letting me fall behind. Every single professor made me feel confident and they were always there to help. Every time I reached out to them via text or email they responded quickly and made sure I had all my questions answered. Even though we only meet through Zoom it really did feel very personal as if we were all meeting in an actual classroom.
Cohorts 14 and 15
I had a special circumstance to have had two different cohorts throughout my journey with Touro. I started out this program with cohort 14 and we worked very hard and collaborated a lot. I had to unexpectedly postpone my last semester and had the fortune to restart it with cohort 15. They welcomed me and it felt as if I had never left. I couldn't have done it without both of these cohorts. The constructive feedback really helped shape my action research and my capstone website. Thank you all very much for your support.
