Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) attempts to identify the nature of knowledge required by teachers for technology integration in their teaching, while addressing the complex, multifaceted and situated nature of teacher knowledge.
This image shows the three basic components of TPACK: Technological Knowledge, Content Knowledge, and Pedagogical Knowledge. When all three come together in the middle a teacher is successfully implementing TPACK.
Content Knowledge: Teachers' knowledge about the subject matter to be learned or taught.
Pedagogical Knowledge: Teachers' deep knowledge about the process and practices or methods of teaching and learning.
Technology Knowledge: Knowledge about certain ways of thinking about, and working with technology, tools, and resources.
