My Action Research Project and the 4Cs
The strength of my action research project lives in the heart of the 4Cs. Through the use of blogs online, students were able to first research and reflect on the information that most interested them. Next, they were able to both collaborate and communicate with each other via the Internet. They were asked to reflect on other students' responses, and some responded to more than one student. After reading their responses, I realized that some of them needed explicit teaching of what an academic, reflective response looks like instead of what they're used to: social blogging. Once I offered the clarification, the quality of reflections and responses did increase.
