Next Steps:
  • Integrate more artwork into literature instruction, both in the receptive mode (reading) and the expressive (writing and speaking).
  • Transfer my learning and my students' new experiences with a digital, mutli-media platform in their literature program to their writing outputs. Provide "student choice and voice" in writing by giving a them a variety of performance tasks such as creating graphics, artwork, videos, cartoons, animations, or podcasts.
  • Develop tools and products for multi-media, online learning in my social studies classes.

Teachers tell their students all the time that learning should be a lifelong activity. I truly believe this statement and continually strive to improve my own knowledge and skills as an educator. I am deeply grateful for the Innovative Learning Program at Touro University’s Graduate School of Education for providing the vehicle and to the NapaLearns Fellows program for gassing up the vehicle. The NapaLearns Fellowship program provides essential financial support for educators seeking to grow in their practices of innovative education and also makes it possible for teachers to continue to be involved throughout their careers.
