Coding and Robotics Supports Struggling Math Learners
This study looks at how students who have failed Math 1 multiple times have now experienced success with Math 1 coding and robotics. Students were taught Math 1 concepts while also learning coding in C++. Students were engaged in coding and robotics activities which provided the opportunity for the math to become more visual. The problems in the C-Stem curriculum were real life problems that students were able to relate to in an easier way. Students were also presented with a variety of free learning apps to reinforce important concepts they may have missed throughout their math career. Quizizz, socrative, pear deck, Kahoot, were all used and well received by the students.
