Is There a Place for Technology in Language Arts Instruction?

Of the three "Rs," 'rithmetic' will be left up to the mathematicians, but Language Arts teachers are still responsible for reading and (w)riting. How can digital tools support that endeavor?

     Napa Valley Unified School District is transforming schools away from traditional instruction. In an effort to reflect the needs of students for the 21st century, an inquiry-driven approach, via either Project Based Learning (PBL) or International Baccalaureate (IB). A driving goal for teachers is to use TPACK--a framework for an educational approach combining Technological, Pedagogy, and Content Knowledge.  Given this chosen pedagogy, instructors need to address their content with the every-changing technology available.
