21st Century Learning and Workforce Readiness
Research studies suggest that, engaged students experience improved academic achievement and satisfaction.  They are more likely to persist through academic struggles and earn higher standardized test scores.  Students who are engaged in their learning have better social skills and are less likely to drop out of school (Finley, 2015).
Interdisciplinary PBL with real world application has challenging goals with multiple opportunities to show and develop learning, and builds community partnerships that provide tutors, mentors, internships, and service learning experiences (Lam, Jimerson, Wong, Kikas & Shin, 2014).
This is what our students need to be ready to face the world and enter the job force as productive young people.
