TPACK

Picture
TPACK is a framework that combines three different types of knowledge into one neat and complete package that educators need to use to design well rounded and effective learning experiences.

The three sections of TPACK are Technological Knowledge, Content Knowledge, and Pedagogical knowledge.

Technological Knowledge- Technology integrated into the lesson that allows for an experience that could not have been possible without the digital tool used.

Content Knowledge- Facts and concepts of the subject area that give a focus for learning.

Pedagogical Knowledge- The manner in which the information or content is delivered. This is the strategy or teaching method used in the classroom.

In my research and capstone project I incorporated what students already knew, used technology that allowed my students to work at their own pace while gaining the content knowledge and giving support when needed to give them a sense of a personal approach to the content.  The ability to use digital tools as a support to make sense of the content through verbal metacognition combines all three sections of TPACK.
This TPACK model shows how my research and lessons incorporated all three sections of the model to get students to the "sweet spot" in the center of the three ring model.
