In approaching the question, "How can be better engage students?" Evrim and I first had to step back and ask about the STUDENT experience, who are after all our end users. If students are disengaged, how can we engage them? How can we design a better system to engage them?
We started at the center by asking, "How can we design a cognitively appropriate school experience that meets student needs?" After our first research cycle, we decided to branch these into categories based on Maslow:
