Mountain Math Spiral Review
Mountain Math Spiral Review was used as a warm up for all students, regardless of their own math level. The warm-up period lasted for 15 minute where concepts were explained, demonstrated and It was chosen because it was a spiral review of basic math concepts that I saw students struggling with. The level used was the third-grade level as it was a level that all students could use as a whole class without being too difficult for the students in lower levels and without being too easy for students in higher math levels. It gave students the opportunity to learn new concepts and review previous concepts on a on-going basis with scaffolding and adult support. It was also a great way for students to show their understanding and mastery.
Excel Math was used to help differentiate curriculum to each individual students particular math needs. There were 5 different grade levels of Excel Curriculum used, second through sixth grade. Students were separated into groups determined by their math level. Each group was put into separate breakout rooms with an adult so that differentiated accommodations, modifications and other necessary supports could be provided to students needing them. Above is an example of the 4th grade level.
Students were assigned work specific to their level and need through Google Classroom. Students were able to write on the PDF copies of the math work using the Kami extension in the Google suite.
