Instructional Materials & How-Tos

Advice from my journey:
  • Due to required curriculum, leverage opportunities to enhance and supplement learning.
  • Look for connections to infuse creativity and collaboration for students.
  • Use resources and lesson designs others have created then adjust as needed.
  • Build a network of like minded colleagues to collaborate with.
  • Plan with students. They have amazing ideas and imaginations! Ask what they want to create or build. Or what materials or supplies they think would support them.
  • Be patient, brave and flexible. The best laid plans don't always translate into successful learning.
  • Start somewhere. Find one opportunity to infuse art or engineering. Be playful and creative. Then find the next. Slowly, you will have transformed majority of your curriculum into hands-on, engaging and memorable learning.
