ASSESSMENT
Picture
My first and second graders love Kahoot! It became a valuable tool during virtual learning. One student announced to the class that I was tricking them into learning with Kahoot! And yet they still beg for it! We use it once a week to review vocabulary words from our text. I've also used it as a pre-test to see what students already know about a topic. There are many Kahoot! activities created by teachers in the library as well as the ability to create your own. It's user friendly and student friendly. It's also FREE!

Quizziz is another class favorite! We use it to preview students' current knowledge about a topic, to prepare for a summative assessment, or as another measure to compare with an end of unit assessment. There is a vast library of teacher created quizzes that you can use as is or make a copy and edit to fit your students' needs. It is also FREE!

I'm hearing nothing but wonderful things about Blooket as another option for using "gaming" to preview, review and assess learning.
Students adore the characters, graphics but most of all the games.
If students are engaged and excited to play to learn, why not leverage that into our teaching practices?
