The TPACK framework is a way to show how different forms of knowledge can come together and overlap when blended with intention. It shows the three knowledge areas of technology, pedagogy, and content and at the center is the understanding of how to teach using technology as a vehicle. The message of TPACK is to think about how to use technology to teach concepts in a way that enhances or deepens student learning experiences.
As you plan instruction, you think about the content or what you know about the subject. You use your pedagogical knowledge to determine the best method for instruction that will meet the needs of the students. You also think about what digital tools might be available to support the learning or collaboration of your students. As you synthesize all three knowledge areas you reach the goal of combining them into an integrated experience for students.
