Instructional Materials & How-Tos

Finding useful and meaningful material in Spanish to use to help enhance your instruction is not easy.  I have organized some of the tools along with some tutorial videos that I found useful for my classroom.

Digital Citizenship

It is essential to teach your students to be digital citizens before implementing any digital tools  It takes time, but it will save you time by not having to do a lot of classroom management later on.  This video, from Common Sense Media, gives you an overview of what digital citizenship is.  On their site they also provide digital citizenship
training for teachers and a scope and sequence with lessons that you may implement in your classroom in Spanish and/or English.

Google Classroom
Google classroom is a management system designed to help you keep all your assignments, assessments, etc. organized.  You can create, assign, collect and grade all in one place.  You can basically go paperless!  Alice Keeler has many great tutorial videos to help you get started with Google Classroom.  The video to the left is one of many she has available.  To see more of her videos click here.  To visit her website/blog where she has more tips, tutorials, resources to help with the implementation of Google Classroom click here
You can create assignments in Spanish or English.

ASSESSMENT
Picture
On Google Classroom you can create assignments in Spanish or English.  The image to the left is an example of an assignment I posted in my classroom this school year.  It was for a Spanish writing prompt.  After explaining and modeling, students were able to access all the resources in one place.  I highly recommend Google Classroom.

Flip Grid
With Flipgrid students can create short videos to share ideas and learn together.  It's a great way to have students practice their Spanish oral language and ensure that every voice is heard.  Watch the video to learn more about how to use Flipgrid.

Adobe Spark
With Adobe spark students can create stories and videos.  They can add images, music, record their voice and more.  With Adobe Spark students can publish their stories, give a presentation about a topic, apply their creativity, practice their Spanish oral language and more.  Watch the video to get an idea of what you can do with Adobe Spark and how.
