The is the heart of strong teaching. The delicacy and intricacy of weaving technology, content and pedagogy into a unit where students are presented with avenues for learning is really where the craft of teaching separates those who can simulate from those who truly educate. This is also the most challenging aspect of teaching.
Through this program, I've learned that it is also ever-changing. These interconnected circles will move as students' (or educators') needs and awareness change. This action research project really offered me the awareness of this lesson for me, personally. I finally saw and understood where these changes needed to occur while in the midst of the unit. A small example stems from my asking them to write their reflections on a blog. Then I realized, based on their responses, that some students needed to be taught the difference between social media responses and academic blogs. So, adjustments were made to enhance learning.
As educators, we are master jugglers. This is, perhaps, the most important aspect of teaching that we should keep in the air.
