What is TPACK?

TPACK is the integration of technological, pedagogical, content knowledge. It is the perfect storm for 21st century learning in the classroom. Through TPACK the classroom is teleported from a one room schoolhouse to modern day. Teachers use current technology, engaging pedagogy, and relevant content to design lessons for the 21st century classroom.

TPACK in terms of this Project-
  • Technology: Students engaged with exciting videos and recorded feelings on Google Forms. Videos are an important component in a modern classroom. As Baggio notes in The Visual Connection, "you listen with your eyes." Short videos are ideal to convey a message because they provide a memorable visual and engaging audio. Unfortunately, learners of all ages tune teachers out and can miss important information. Videos are a nice break for students (and teachers). Additionally, it would have been just as easy to administer the survey on paper. But Google Forms records data neatly and will calculate student scores automatically.
  • Pedagogy: Students had the opportunity to engage with the Rainbow Breath with the interactive GoNoodle video. Students were able to reflect on other opportunities they could incorporate Rainbow Breath into their daily lives.
  • Content: Breath is the foundation of yoga practice. When you take deeper breaths you are able to stay focused on poses, ignore other distractions, and increase your oxygen intake.
