History/Rationale
As I began to integrate more and more technology into my classroom, it became very apparent to me that students were only interacting with these new tools in one or two classrooms. With a seven period day, this made up a very small part of their day. In many other classes they were being expected to listen to instruction and follow a very traditional teacher centered model. I was using Google Drive on a daily basis, and students were using it at home to work with content from class and projects. I realized that I needed to get more teachers on board with using these new tools. In order for my students to be successful they needed 21st century skills throughout their day. As a result, I thought that by creating a short workshop on using Google Drive would inspire some teachers to start integrating more technology and using PBL.
Technology Integration Unit PlanThis technology unit plan is an attempt to create professional development for fellow colleagues at my school site. The outline provided here gives an overview of the lesson that was created for using Google Drive in the classroom. Sharing with colleagues how to access, organize, and use Google Drive is a stepping stone to integrating technology in our curriculum for students.
