21st Century Learning and Workforce Readiness

Picture
A rapidly changing world
As technology changes at a mind bogglingly pace, students are expected to be able to keep up with their peers world wide. These 21st century skills, and more specifically the 4 C's, seek to address how to build these skills with our students.

These are embedded into my action research and my daily lessons.

My action research had each one of these in mind when I designed it. I wanted students to show application of all of these vital skills through their work. Just a few examples:
  • Students reviewing other student work and offering suggestions (critical thinking, communication, and creativity)
  • Students sharing documents (collaboration)
  • I also am mindful of trying my best to apply these in my own daily practice. If someone were to observe my lessons, I hope that they would see evidence of students being given the opportunity to work on each one.
