Engagement in the 21st Century Math Classroom

“School should be less about preparation for life and more about life itself.”
- John Dewey

As our world changes, so do the demands of the workplace.  We don't even know what kinds of jobs students will be asked to do when they graduate from high school!  We need to prepare them with the necessary skills to be successful in any job or career that they choose.  Developing the 4 C's (critical thinking, collaboration, communication, and creativity) will give students a firm foundation of skills to enable them to participate in a multitude of workplaces and environments.

“What we resolve to do in school only makes sense when considered in the broader context of what the society intends to accomplish through its educational investment
in the young.”
