 How-Tos and Tutorials:

Understanding Lexiles:

I used student lexile levels as a data measurement.  What on earth is a lexile?  The short video to the right explains what they are, and how they work.  This is a quick and dirty guide to how a student's lexile range is determined and why it's recommended that students read texts that fall in that range. (1:59)
This video is much more in depth.  It's produced by MetaMetrics, a company that produces many of the raising tests and programs that schools across the US use to measure student reading abilities.  This video goes into detail explaining the lexile framework for reading and how it relates to text complexity and reader ability.  It explains how lexile levels are scaled, how texts fall into the lexile range, and how students should use lexile levels when selecting texts.  It ends with an exploration of the tools and resources on the website. Google Forms Tutorials:

This is a brief explanation at how to create a quiz using google forms.  This is aimed at teacher use, and it's a good place to start, especially if you're pressed for time. (1:45)
This is a much more in depth explanation of how to use google forms.  This is from the folks at the Teacher's Tech YouTube channel.  Watch this one when you have the time to learn all the little things. (22:33)

Overdrive Tutorials:

Borrow eBooks, audiobooks, and more from your library anything from any location.  The schools in my district use the overdrive program for students to check out digital titles.
