Glencoe Virtual Labs: Online virtual labs with questions. Topics range from life                 science (cells, population biology, evolution), physical science  (thermal energy,               waves, physical & chemical changes) and earth science (plate tectonics, rock
           cycle, climate, weather).

Digital Tools Used In Astronomy Unit:

  • NASA Game: Choose from games about the earth, sun solar system and universe
  • Astronomy Games:  A variety of interactive online games, external astronomy links for enthusiastic learners, as well as additional scholastic websites for educators.
  • Earth, Sun & Moon Game: Learn about the Earth, Sun & Moon's orbits as you experiment with different dates and times in this fun activity for kids. Discover how long the Earth takes to orbit the Sun, how many hours it takes the Earth to spin around once on its own axis, how long the Moon takes to orbit the Earth, how it all relates to our calendar and other useful facts. Watch how the Earth and Moon orbit the Sun, is it how you expected? Find the answers to these questions and learn more about the size of the Earth, Sun & Moon, their shape and the speed they travel through space with this cool, interactive science game.
  • Space Pro: Learn about the Lunar cycle using this animated game.
  • Lunar Cycle Challenge: The goal of the lunar cycle challenge is to drag moons to their places in the lunar cycle map. Your mission is to complete all 3 levels.
  • Lunar Eclipse Simulator: See how the moon orbits around and causes a lunar eclipse using this simulation website.
  • Lunar Eclipse Interactive: The goals of this interactive are to: distinguish between a Lunar eclipse and a Solar eclipse, Illustrate the different types of lunar eclipses and define the dark and semi-light zones.
  • Seasons Interactive #1: This interactive website shows how seasons are created and has questions built in along the way.
  • Seasons Interactive #2: This interactive website shows how seasons are created and has important information about earth’s rotation.

Digital Citizenship Lesson Resources:

PBS Learning Physical Science Digital Lessons: Lessons from this website range from all different topics in physical science like motion, energy, light, and more. Engineering design can be introduced through a video on "Funny Boats," potential and kinetic energy can be investigated with catapults and roller coasters, and sound waves can be experimented with using the resources in Physical Science. Additional topics include the periodic table, thunder and lightning, and the electromagnetic spectrum.

Forces and Motion Lesson Ideas: Resources for educators for physical science lessons from grades 5-12. There are activities, labs, slideshows, graphic organizers and plenty of interactive online websites.
