TPACK in the Arts Classroom

ArtsEdge supports the integration of the TPACK and APACK.  The site features unit and lesson plans in the arts paired with technology resourses, as well as ideas for instructional strategies; this provides an easy, accessible way for the art educators to begin to combine technology, pedagogy, and arts content in the classroom.

Notice the similarities between the TPACK and the APACK.  Characteristics being considered in Technology Integration, such as integration-active, collaborative, constructive, authentic, and goal directed can be see in arts integration. Both arts integration and technology integration focus on constructive-student centered work through an authentic process with the goal of enriching, energizing student learning through engagement and differentiation.  Just as technology is integrated throughout the curriculum, the arts are integrated.  Both should be transparent to the learner with arts supporting technology as it is woven in digital storytelling, PSA's, video development, attractive visuals on websites and the list goes on. Imagine technology projects enriched with an arts integration flair.
