Make a know/need-to-know list

This list will be replicated by students in the early days of the project, but it should also be done beforehand.  By creating the list prior to the rollout of the project, a few things will be accomplished.  One, the you will be able to anticipate possible problems and teachable moments for the lesson.  The need-to-know list can be looked at as the your need-to-teach list.  Secondly, making out this list ahead of time will enable the you to properly plan out the project by day.

Often times, each point on the need-to-know list will take a full day but some can be coupled with other points.  It’s essential to know about this ahead of time so students can effectively gauge their time allotment on the project.  Nothing is more frustrating to a student than to continually have the due date of a project changed because the teacher just remembered there are other things to teach.
