Grammar Girl
Great site if you love language! You can connect via all major social media, her podcasts and newsletters. Her "Quick and Dirty Tips" provide bite-size lessons, clarifications, and pronunciation guides aimed at adolescent and older students. Her videos and podcasts can be easily adapted as beginning-of-the-period warm-ups, or used in a "flipped classroom" approach.

I was recently introduced to this site by a colleague. It is a well-established resource with downloadable resources and links which combine teaching and tech.

Cult of Pedagogy
Teacher nerds, unite. Jennefer Gonzalez's incredible website. She's a rockstar. If you only check out one of my recommendations, go here. Should be required reading. Includes links to all her social media and podcast.

THE COMMON CORE COMPANION: The Standards Decoded Grades 6-8
by Jim Burke

This is my go-to when looking at planning lessons. Highly recommended. It is spiral-bound which 1) allows it to lie flat and 2) reduces the wear-and-tear with multiple uses. Valuable companion to whatever TE text is being used.

TEACH LIKE A PIRATE
By Dave Burgess

I had the opportunity to watch his presentation at the most recent CUE conference, and he is amazing. He's the teacher we wished we'd had (and would love to be). Not as "academic" as the above selections, but easily as valuable.

CREATIVELY TEACH COMMON CORE LITERACY STANDARDS WITH TECHNOLOGY GRADES 6-12
By Catlin Tucker

Another valued addition to an educator's library. Althought the text addresses literacy standards, it is not limited to Language Arts/English, but is applicable acrosss any discipline which includes literacy in their CCSS (Social Studies, Science, etc.)

Tech Tools for Everything, Everyone, Everyday

Picture
This will take you to an exhaustive list of Tech Tools, with concise discriptions and categorized by needs addressed, subject matter and type of tool. This spreadsheet will provide links to sites addressing communications, curriculum, digital literacy, numeracy, presentation and all things related to digital literacy--everything from "A" to "T" (i.e. "Animoto" to "Thingverse"). Some of the things this can help you with include
  • blogging software
  • presentation resources
  • game creation software
  • makers' resources
  • word cloud generator
  • reliable fact-checking sites
To paraphrase the old Brewster's ad, "If it isn't here, you don't need it."
