Guidelines for How to Make a Quality Question Club Happen for You
To create a Quality Question Club in your classroom, you need to be or become competent with a survey application (Google Forms works well) to learn the needs of your students with regard to free or inexpensive rewards that may effect a change in student questioning behaviors.
You will also need a system of tracking student questioners and their numbers of questions that meets your classroom environment without adding a large management role. This may be as simple as a small classroom poster or an electronic management tool such as a padlet or spreadsheet.
Expertise, or at least rudimentary skill may be needed depending on the anticipated reward. Are you an expert in warming up water? Then you can make tea! Another example that has impacted my classroom: many of my students are intrigued by a reward of hammering nails into a large piece of wood. This, in our litigious society, may need training before allowing the hammer and nails to be used.

Tracking and Tallying Student Questions
To track student responses, I recommend a public method. I have used large posters, one per class period. This makes easy management.
I have also, as seen at left, set aside a portion of my whiteboard to track student names and checks. Another possible tracking method is to set up a daily Padlet focused on the Questions of the Day. This allows you to keep track of the questions and assess their quality later in the day. Although the feedback is not instant, it allows for better tracking.
