Assessment are a large part of teaching. We are always wanting to make sure your students are learning the material that is presented. The never ending cycle of plan, teach, and assess. Everything that we do in out classroom revolves around this cycle. We want to make sure we are being effecting in the classroom. We also need to make sure that we are that we are assessing out students mindsets as well. I know as a new teacher I struggled with finding this balanced. I was so focused on making sure my students understood the content that I wasn’t able to see the larger problem at hand, my student's thoughts.
When we keep how are students are thinking at the forefront of our teaching we can better serve our students. But how do you assess one’s? I provided my students surveys that they could take in private. Allowing your students time to focusing purely reminds how powerful our thoughts are. Flipgrid is a great digital tool to use in the classroom when conducting assessments. It can be used as a formative assessment to so what students know in a less pressure atmosphere. It can all be a summative assessment where the participants focus on the outcome of the lesson. You can use Flipgrid in every content area. Flipgrid provided your students the opportunity to express themselves in a new way.
