Common Core State Standards

The Common Core Standards are designed to prepare students for success. They focus on skills that will make students successful their college and/or career paths. Because mathematics was the content area I focused on, the Common Core State Standards for Mathematics were heavily focused on. I used the math curriculum adopted by the Napa Valley Unified School District entitled Bridges in Mathematics. This program is a Common Core aligned math curriculum created by the Math Learning Center. Click the links below to learn more about how the Common Core Standards apply to my Capstone Project. 

The Common Core website is designed for both parents and educators. It provides a clear overview of the Common Core Standards, gives information on how the Common Core was created, and shares why it is important for our students.
