With the onset of COVID-19, I grew concerned that the language and social development that students learn during play-based learning was decreasing amongst primary students.  I wanted to know what was really happening when primary students were playing, learning and communicating in a virtual classroom.  My research focused on creating a virtual, play-based learning classroom that would:
  • keep students engaged
  • increased communication amongst peers
  • developed language complexity while learning virtually or in-person.
