Assessment Tools

Picture
The above picture is a student utilizing technology to video another students performance. This is an excellent example of 21st century learning in a physical education classroom. The student being video taped will be able to watch and assess herself, along with getting peer feedback.

Assessments Utilized During Reseach

Throughout my first round of research I utilized multiple assessment tools:
  1. A rubric to assess weather or not each student was achieving their calorie goals (including their goals in daily carbohydrates, proteins, and fats), if the food they were consuming was nutritious, and how much each student was exercising - and if their caloric goals matched their caloric out-put (click HERE to access rubric).
  2. A google form as a pre and post- test to compare the students knowledge about nutrition before and after using the app, MyFitnessPal. Assess example HERE

Assessments Utilized in my Classroom

There are multiple different types of assessments I utilize everyday
  1. The first one I use are students Daily Points - Students are awarded 10 points every day for fitness (getting their heart rate up), participation (attempting and practicing the physical activity), and social/self-respect
  2. Students set personal fitness goals based on the California Fitness Testing
  3. Utilize rubrics for Performance Assessments
  4. Utilize google forms for self-assessment (click here for an example)
  5. For progress monitoring assessments I use both pre and post-test and exit tickets
