Welcome to My Virtual World:
When I originally came up with my research project, I wanted to study what measurable impact building video games had on students’ abilities to analyze and construct narratives. I saw the process of creating video games as a tool that could be leveraged to increase student abilities in an adjacent area of study.
However, as I continued my research, I soon discovered the potential that the human brain has for taking the sensory input from any storytelling medium (be it novels, comic books, video games, virtual reality programs, or live plays) and transforming that sensory input into a virtual world. This is the realization that I would like to share with you.
