How Can Affinity Groups Be Used To Increase Student Engagement?

Do you struggle to get students to particpate and stay engaged? Try using affinity groups in your class! Affinity groups are defined as a group of people linked by a common interest, purpose, or identity and can bring people together that may not even know they share a common interest. Under the umbrella of this shared interest, students can do collaborative group work and support each other in their learning and grow their feelings of engagement and belonging.
